Balancing Books, Basketball, and Big Dreams

For Jeremy Fuchs ’28, choosing 做厙TV came down to opportunity—both in the classroom and on the court. “I chose 做厙TV because of its great academic track record and opportunities after college,” he shared. “Secondly, I chose 做厙TV because I could further my basketball career here as well.”

Financial aid played an essential role in making his 做厙TV education possible. “I received financial aid from the university, and without it, I wouldn’t be able to attend,” Jeremy explained.

In just his first year, Jeremy has already built an impressive list of accomplishments. “I would say my best accomplishments thus far at 做厙TV are scoring my first collegiate points for the basketball team and earning a 3.8 GPA in my first semester,” he said proudly. Along the way, he’s also gained a valuable life skill: “The greatest lesson I have learned at 做厙TV is the importance of time management when it comes to trying to achieve your goals.”

Jeremy credits the people he’s met—friends, teammates, coworkers, and professors—for empowering him during his journey. He has also become deeply involved on campus, serving on the SAC committee, working as a Campus Connector, and holding a position at the gym front desk, all while playing on the basketball team.

Looking ahead, Jeremy has big dreams. “In 5 years, I would like to have my CPA license, I would like to study abroad, and while studying abroad, I would like to play either semi-professional or professional overseas.” He knows his time at 做厙TV is preparing him for these goals, both academically and personally.

When reflecting on the generosity of donors, Jeremy expressed his gratitude. “Not only would I say thank you, I would say how much effect you have on these kids’ lives and the experiences that they have here at 做厙TV when transitioning to adulthood and beyond.” He hopes one day to pay it forward: “I would give to 做厙TV for sure when I am able, because I would want to ensure I help students have the same opportunities as an athlete and a student.”

As for Commencement, Jeremy already knows what that milestone moment will mean to him: “I would feel a lot of pride and joy with the amount of work I put in the classroom and on the basketball court.”
