After you've applied for admission and been accepted by ����TV, obtain your education benefits by following these steps:

1. Apply for VA education benefits using the following link and follow the prompts: (ex: CH 33�� Post 911-GI Bill® or CH 35 Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA).�� Apply for benefits

2. Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility from the VA please send a copy to veterans@marywood.edu for your file.

3. Before the start of each semester, please fill out the following form. Military and Certification Enrollment Form view here and send it to veterans@marywood.edu or stop by the office in the Learning Commons Room 174. This form allows the Office of Military and Veteran Service to process your benefit request. Requests can not be processed through the VA without this request each semester.

����TV recognizes that people learn in a variety of settings and that some students approach the university experience with college-level learning acquired outside the traditional classroom.

Academic credit or waiver for other college-level learning can be awarded through a variety of programs, such as standardized testing through: Joint Services Transcripts (JSTs) and Community College of the Air Force

provides people with the opportunity to gain college credit in general academic areas, as well as in foreign language, by performing well on specific written tests. The tests measure knowledge gained through life experiences during travel, work, military service, etc. Information on CLEP exams may be obtained by contacting the Coordinator of Prior Learning Assessment at ����TV.

Those who wish to be considered for advanced status through CLEP should take the CLEP examinations and request the test scores be reported directly to ����TV.

is another nationally recognized testing program that affords individuals the opportunity to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom. Those who have military experience may gain college credits by obtaining a recommended score on the DANTES subject standardized tests. DANTES supports CLEP and DSST exams.

Military & Veteran Scholarship Opportunities (2025–2026)

Below are several scholarship programs available to service members, veterans, and their families. Please review eligibility and deadlines carefully, as they vary by organization.

Pat Tillman Foundation Scholarship

Application Window: Opens December 1, 2025 (varies yearly, typically November–February)

Eligibility:

• U.S. service members from all branches

• Veterans (pre- and post-9/11 eras)

• Military spouses

• Surviving spouses of military service members

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. college or university (bachelor’s, master’s, or professional degree)

• Application includes essays, military documentation, financial info, and one character reference

Folds of Honor Scholarship

Eligibility:

• Dependents and/or spouses of fallen or disabled U.S. service members (Military Scholarships)

• Dependents and/or spouses of fallen or disabled first responders (First Responder Scholarships)

Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Program

Eligibility:

• Children of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force members (active duty, retired, or deceased, under age 24)

• Spouses of Air Force or Space Force members (active duty, retired, or surviving spouse)

Requirements:

• High school graduate enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or trade/vocational program

• Minimum 2.0 GPA; not a veteran or currently serving member

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Education Assistance Program

Eligibility:

• Children or spouses of active duty, retired, or qualifying deceased Sailors and Marines

• Must be under age 23 (children) by September 30 of the current academic year

Requirements:

• Pursuing career & technical education, associate, bachelor’s, or (for spouses) master’s degrees

• Programs may be full-time, part-time, online, or in-person

Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship

Eligibility:

• Purple Heart recipients who are MOPH members

• Spouses or lineal descendants of Purple Heart recipients or service members killed in action

National Military Family Association (NMFA) Scholarship

• Spouses of all 8 Uniformed Services: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, USPHS, and NOAA

• Must be spouse of a post-9/11 service member who is active duty, retired, disabled, Guard/Reserve, or fallen

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

• Veterans with 100% service-connected disability

Army Emergency Relief (AER) Scholarship Program
